1. Always refer to Black-Belt instructors as Professor, Sifu or Sensei and all other instructors as “Coach”.
2. All metal objects, jewelry, piercing, necklaces and other items should be removed before stepping onto the mat.
3. Always take responsibility for your health as well as your fellow classmates and do not come to train if you feel unwell.
4. No shoes, food, drink or cell phones in the training area or on the mat
5. All students, participants and Instructors must wear some form of footwear when walking outside of the training area and in the restrooms.
6. Always bow when you enter and exit the training area without exception.
7. Always maintain a respectful posture in the training area and with your training partners.
8. Bow to your training partner before and after practice and between techniques..
9. A high standard of personal hygiene is mandatory and a sign of courtesy and respect.
10. All students, instructors, Professors, and guess students must wear a kimono.
11. It is mandatory to wear a rash guard or training shirt and underwear underneath the kimono.
12. A clean uniform must be worn at all times. A dirty uniform is a sign of disrespect.
13. The belt represents your progress. Keep it on at all times.
14. No celebrating the submission of a training partner; its not about winning but continuing the journey of understanding and advancing
15. Tap early and tap often. Take care of yourself and your training partner and respect each other’s health and safety.
16. Leave the ego off the mats, we are all leaders in the dojo and must lead by example.
