Coach at Bill Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Martial Arts.

Where are you from?
I was born in Yucatan, Mexico and live in Jacksonville, Florida.

What BJJ means to me:
Brazilian jiu jitsu for me is discipline, respect, honor  it is lifestyle more than a sport. that gives you security and confidence, especially if you are a woman gives you strength, agility that serves for your own protection and personal defense, it also makes you well physically and mentally, it is an excellent means to combat stress., I train, I enjoy it, and I have the joy of sharing my knowledge in children’s classes and with other women.
How long have you studied martial arts?
7 continuous years. I started in 2014 at the age of 28.

Where have you done your martial arts training?
I started in California in a BJJ School franchise that used to be running by Professor Bill, I trained for about 2 years from 2014-2016, I have been then studied at Bill Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Martial Arts ever since.

What other things besides martial arts do you enjoy?
Reading, dance ballet, Jazz, Latin rhythms, going to the gym, riding a bicycle, and spending time with the family.

Do you have a day-job?
I was a school teacher from 2009 to 2013.  In 2016 Since then I have worked as a Program director and Kids Coach in Bill Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association.

What is one thing you would say to someone thinking about starting martial arts?
Be patient with yourself, don’t be hard on yourself, have fun and try to listen to all advices, also don’t compare yourself with others, each person has differences ways of learning, stay consistent, and enjoy the journey!
What would you say to a parent thinking about signing their child up?
Martial arts classes are one of the best gifts you can give your children; on top of the self defense aspect, they will learn discipline, respect, hard work, humility, as well as gain confidence and the vital leadership skills necessary for life.  I’m so thankful professor bill teaching me this jiu jitsu martial arts lifestyle, its impacted every area of my life in a positive way. Now as a parent myself, I enjoy watching my daughter’s own skills and confidence grow.

Favorite Quote:  Jiu-Jitsu is for the protection of the individual: the older man, the weak, the child, the lady, and the young woman; anyone who doesn’t have the physical attributes to defend themselves.
